The best materials produce the strongest poles
Featherlite utilizes aluminum alloy 7001 with T6 temper.
7001 has the highest yield strength among the 7000 series of alloys(7001,7178,7075).
Yield strength measures the point at which the pole becomes permanently bent.
The T6 temper process is used(vs.T9) because it produces a less brittle, yet high yield pole.
Both yield strength and brittleness must be gauged to obtain an accurate measurement of pole strength. |

It is practically impossible to reduce weight without sacrificing bending stiffness.
However, weight redution can be achieved by removing weight from the joint, which usally accounts for 20% of the total weight of the pole.

Conventional poles tend to fail at their weakest link - the ferrule.
Featherlite poles eliminate the ferrule and consequently eliminate the weak link. |
Eliminating the ferrule results in a balanced joint providing continuous strength over the entire length of the pole set.

Durable and easy to repair
Anodized screwlock tips are easy to repair and help prevent corrosion.
Resistance to Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) of Featherlite is very high because of less internal stress and no welding split. It is because we use sealmess extrusion. |

| Seamless Extrusion is an expensive and slow process that insures uniform microstructure of aluminum. Sheet welding is less costly and faster but also less durable due to welding line. |
